Create Art with Lego
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6yMbvg3qA5c
My friend made this profile video on a Lego artist who lives in New York.
Nathan Sawaya used to be a lawyer but now quit and become an artist who creates amazing art with the least expected materials.
One of his art is a red man, representing the artist self in him, struggling to get out of the skin and bones of a well-dressed lawyer. This is very touching. I believe there’s an artist deep in everyone’s heart.
I myself love paper cutting and I love many other forms of art. But would I have the courage to break free from my day job and commit to paper cutting? Maybe one day and I hope that day will come soon.
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing

Joining GAP – Finding my big family of paper cutters
Joining GAP – Finding my big family of paper cutters
Ever since I started my facebook page dedicated to sharing my love and stories of paper cuttings, so many of friends and families and strangers have shared with me via emails, facebook msgs, weibo, etc. all the paper cuttings/paper cutting related news and ideas.
This time, Sylvia has shared on my timeline a wonderful piece of News that Guild of American Papercutters are sending some wonderful paper cuttings to a German museum! How awesome! Then I got so excited that I searched for contact info. of the GAP members, which started an interesting email with several great artists in paper cuttings, they are Susan T. from Poland and Marie Helene from VA! After checking their works out, I suddenly feel that I’m no longer alone! THere are so many great designs and paper cutting lovers out there!
There’re so much I need to learn and develop. I remember talking to Freda Zhao, a girl who I went to college with in Beijing, who had displayed a great sense in art since the first day I met her. After looking at my website, she said in an email: You need a signature on your art. People need to be able to tell that it’s your work when they lay their eyes on them.
Darn, this is it. I do need a signature, and I need to find my soul and I need to make myself touched so that other people will be moved by my art!
Joining GAP is an eye-widening experience. I not only met so many paper cutters(some of whom I met on GAP facebook page), but also got an invitation to a GAP annual meeting in PA this October. Atlas, I’m sooo looking forward to meeting all those wonderful artsy people and talking to them!
But before that, I’ll cherrish my 2-month vacation in China and clean my mind so that I can put more creative thoughts in it!

This video by Dexterdelfinproductions.com has done a great job in capturing my large-scale Opera Face paper cuttings. This is the first official video that focuses on my paper cutting and the background of Chinese paper cutting.
